Next Gen Vaping
Looks like we’re entering a new generation of vaping, now that Innokin have teamed up with Fourier Technology to develop the Sensis, the first vaping device with 4th generation technology.
First-gen vaping tech was very basic, where the power couldn’t be altered in any way. By pressing a button or by inhaling, the battery heated up the coils, vaporising the liquid.
Second-gen introduced variable voltage and wattage, allowing for greater control to user’s personal tastes. The second-gen devices became smarter and more user-friendly. The chipsets in the devices automatically calculated the output of power to give a safer, more personalised experience across all devices and tanks.
Third-gen tech introduced temperature control to more advanced chipsets and new types of coil materials. Designed to eliminate those pesky dry hits and potential harm from damaged cotton wicking, third-gen tech used resistance-temperature correlation to calculate coil temperatures based on a given coil resistance. But due to limited coils of materials and coil performance issues, temperature control isn’t as widely used as wattage or voltage mode.
Now, onto the fourth-gen technology: Alternating Current Mode, or ACM. Previous generations all used direct-current to power coils in just one direction. ACM instead uses sends the current through both directions.
According to Fourier, "Alternating Current Mode introduces Waveform Frequency Control to vaping.
Vapers can now adjust the Hertz frequency waveforms as well as the wattage output. This upgraded output provides many advantages over the previous generation's single direction current.
By selecting different types of waveforms and adjusting the frequency, the full spectrum of flavors can be produced from e-liquids and specific flavors enhanced.
ACM increases the efficiency of heat transfer between the coil and e-liquid, which improves flavors, extends coil life and much more.
Alternating Current Mode has been shown to help extend coil life by increasing coil saturation and reducing carbon buildup on coils."
The Innokin Sensis is the first vape device that uses this new fourth-gen tech, but we’re super excited to see what comes from this amazing new technology.
Love, Supergood.
