Smoke Alarm.
ITV News recently released a report indicating that stress-smoking rates due to COVID-19 are on the rise, prompting UKVIA to express their alarm. They have also reiterated their call to the government to review the vaping regulations which would help smokers weigh up their options more effectively.
The reports shows that 39% of smokers aged 18-34 stated they are now smoking more regularly, while 10% of former smokers picking up the habit again. This hasn’t helped considering the governments refusal to class vape stores as essential businesses during all of the lockdowns.
UKIVA called the rise in smoking rates “shocking in this day and age.”
Due to the large amount of misinformation circulating around the internet, many smokers are under the thinking that vaping is at least as dangerous as smoking, despite the mountains of evidence by respected institutions that claim otherwise.
Hopefully now that vape shops are now starting to reopen across the country, smokers will now start flocking to vape shops to start their quitting journey.
Love, Supergood.
