US Vape Mail Ban Hits UK Businesses

US Vape Mail Ban Hits UK Businesses

The controversial US vape ban is having an unintentional knock-on effect here in the UK, according to those in the vaping industry.

Congress voted into law a $2.3 trillion COVID-19 relief and government funding bill in December, in which included a ban on vaping products from being passed through the US Postal Service (USPS).

This law extends the ban on shipping tobacco products to also include e-cigarettes.

FedEx and UPS have recently announced that they would also halt the delivering of vaping products, further limiting an already massively restrictive market for US consumers.

Unfortunately, it’s a bitterly disappointing but inevitable outcome that US restrictions would eventually bleed into the wider vape industry.

UKVIA’s Director General said that restrictions could cause a severe impact on public health as people continue to rely on shipping services during the pandemic.

He said: “I call on the U.K. government to ensure that carriers in this country are free to continue to deliver vaping products to retailers and direct to consumers and to resist any urge to follow the U.S. down this regressive route.”
